My name is Will and I’m excited to share my fold of Highland cows, Freddie and Rocky, with you.
Highland cows, also known as “Heilan Coos” in Scotland, are not just regular cattle – they’re like the teddy bears of the cow world with their shaggy coats and friendly personalities!

Freddie and Rocky are more than just cows; they are part of my family. They love to roam around, munch on grass, and enjoy brushing and patting.
Best of all, they love Queen music!
Stay tuned to learn more about their adventures and why Highland cows are simply the best!

Highland cattle have the oldest breed book and the genetics and breeding have been maintained since the late 1800s by highland cattle breed societies.
In Australia, the AHCS maintain the herd book of registered animals, preserving and promoting the highland cattle breed. I am a full member of the AHCS and Rocky and Freddie are fully registered.
The AHCS and its members have been very supportive of my love of highland cattle and helped me develop skills to now have my own cattle.

Cattle shows are events where breeders and farmers exhibit their cattle to be judged based on breed standards, including physical attributes, demeanor, and sometimes lineage.
I enjoy participating in cattle shows, as I get to spend time with other breeders and their cattle. I have done lots of training preparing cattle for shows, and have led cattle in a range of shows including winning the Supreme Exhibit at the Royal Canberra Show.
I plan to take Freddy and Rocky to Cattle Shows in South East Queensland to show others with disability that they can work with cattle and what great friends cattle can be.

Unique Appearance: Highland cows are known for their long, wavy coats which keep them cozy in chilly weather. They come in beautiful colors like red, black, dun, and more.
Friendly Giants: Despite their large size (bulls can weigh up to 800kg!), they are known for their gentle and calm nature.
A Hardy Breed: Originally from the Scottish Highlands, these cows are tough and can adapt to various climates.
Sustainable Choice: Their meat is lower in cholesterol compared to other beef, making it a healthier choice.
